Program Description

Body

The northern lights have been so intense lately because of where the sun is in its 11-year solar cycle. This solar cycle has been much more active than originally anticipated by an international panel of scientific experts. And this ramped-up activity isn't slowing down anytime soon.

Learn all about the gorgeous natural phenomenon that is the aurora borealis, and use super fun, engaging techniques to create a visually stunning winter landscape!

For children in grades 3-5. Limited spaces. Registration is required.

Funding for this program is provided by the Ira and Frances Wood Library Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation.
